Hike in Bray

In late January, a group of Champlain College Dublin students set off on an unforgettable hike to Bray, Ireland. We hopped on the DART train in the afternoon, ready for a scenic 45-minute ride that took us to the picturesque seaside town of Bray.

Once we arrived, we were greeted with stunning coastal views that made us even more excited for the adventure ahead. After getting off at Bray Station, we took a quick bus up to the starting point of our hike, and then it was time to begin our climb up Bray Head!

Bray Head Walk is a 9.8-kilometre loop trail that offers some of the most stunning views of County Dublin and the town of Bray. The hike winds up the hill, giving the students a chance to take in the breathtaking coastal scenery with every step. As they climbed higher, the iconic stone cross atop the hill came into view, a famous landmark that adds to the charm of the area. The hill itself towers over the town and the coastline, making the whole experience feel a bit magical.

Along the way, the group took a much-needed break at the cross promenade, where they relaxed, had lunch, and chatted while soaking up the sea breeze and the incredible views. It was the perfect spot to pause and just enjoy the surroundings before finishing the hike and heading back down the trail. The whole journey was a great mix of adventure, nature, and good company!
