If you are interested in an exchange program abroad, look at these tips, and advice to help you navigate your way through Champlain College’s exchange opportunities.

Auckland, New Zealand Auckland University of Technology (AUT):

Dundee, Scotland Abertay University (AU):

• Orientation was best for administrative matters, and the school is 27,000 students
• The RAs hosted events like cookouts, movie nights, grocery trips, bingo, etc. and that was a good opportunity to meet other students in the dorms

• For orientation, Abertay has Fresher’s Week, which is a week-long orientation process for new students. Where you learn the campus, the area, and your class schedule.

Housing:

Amsterdam, The Netherlands Amsterdam University of Applied Science (AUAS or HvA):

1. Own room, bathroom, desk, bed, chair, table, lights, mini fridge, microwave, shower
2. Shared kitchen (No oven only toaster oven safety rule for all dorming options) at the end of the hall with 4 others Co-ed 
3. 2 outside porch areas (one on each side of the building)
4. Lifelong friends with flatmates 
5. Biked or took bus to campus

Auckland, New Zealand Auckland University of Technology (AUT):

1. AUT WSA “on campus” housing
2. 194 style with apartments housing a large amount of students
3. 4-5 bedroom apartments. Separate bedrooms, shared bathrooms, living space, kitchen
4. Four other international students for roommates
5. Can request to be with other students from Champlain or a new group of people. I requested “female international students”
6. Mainly first-year students and international students live in the dorms
7. Co-ed options
8. Lifelong friends with flatmates 

Dundee, Scotland Abertay University (AU):

1. My building (on-campus) was flat-style living
2. Single with a private bathroom
3. Kitchen / shared common area
4. 8-9 people in one flat
5. Lifelong friends with flatmates 

Extracurriculars:

Are offered in each exchange program. With classes and getting settled it can be hard to make the time. Most importantly, if there is a club that interests you try it out!
